The Area, in partnership with the Northern Alberta Renal Program (NARP) at the University of Alberta Hospital in Edmonton (780-407-8822) offer Area residents renal dialysis services at locations across the Area. The University of Alberta has trained staff located at the centres to administer dialysis. One dialysis treatment takes approximately 4 hours. NARP has also designed a bus to provide dialysis to two communities in one week.
The process for referral is as follows: the local physician refers the patient to the specialist at the University of Alberta.
